Pastoral efectiveness flows from the daily personal relationship pastors have with Christ and must be continually measured against God's word. The author examines Ignatian spirituality and The spiritual exercises through feminist perspectives and presents information gleaned through women's experience of praying with female symbols of the Divine. Analysis demonstrates that Ignatian spirituality has the ability not only to welcome Christian feminist scholarship, but to be enlightened by it. Compatibility with Christian feminist views, however, requires the expansion of Ignatius' spirituality, and an adaptation of The spiritual exercises to include contemporary feminist theological, biblical, spiritual, and psychological research. In this spirit, these two movements provide powerful resources for women's development."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lancaster Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["77231467-10ce-4737-858a-8cc38e70a4f9"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1851873207295934464,"timestamp":"2025-12-18T18:51:55.039Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:25:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:18:53Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b98f5302-6e93-4751-8f08-24c3286a9c91","accessControl_ssim":["b3293dd7-8bda-4c75-9861-738021da756b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The design and implementation of spiritual development groups as a means to leadership development and church revitalization"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:25:56Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:28:41Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3c1eed2a-35a0-4f0f-9089-ebe104b77e2f"],"hasLease_ssim":["c73df7f7-6d50-4922-8fec-2778ee6fe982"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Martin R Crain"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ronald Craig Etheredge"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Spiritual life--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project measured the effectiveness of Spiritual Development Groups as a tool for spiritual development in the lives of Christian leaders with a view toward overall church revitalization.
