The author used four distinct spiritual types articulated by Corinne Ware as a taxonomy of spiritual types found in the church.  She preached four sermons using the same lectionary text, each directed toward a particular spiritual type.  She also preached two blended sermons that spoke to all four types simultaneously. This project will include: 1) research into the concept of the Spirit-filled life from a biblical, historical, and contemporary context; 2) development of curriculum for a forty-day discipleship training course on living the Spirit-filled life, and 3) equipping members of Turning Point Baptist Church to live a Spirit-filled life.  The curriculum includes lesson plans and an interactive student devotional.  The devotional contains forty chapters which are designed to be read in consecutive days.  Numerous individuals, including experts in the field of the Holy Spirit, critiqued and commented about the curriculum before church members were equipped. Twenty parishioners completed an assessment survey after the morning worship service on Sunday, October 3, 2004. Group members completed the assessment survey the first day of the group, October, 6, 2004. The group completed the post test on the last day of the group, December 22, 2004. The results indicate that group participants experienced some spiritual growth and confirmed three of the five goals of this project. The ability to utilize music appropriately and skillfully is instrumental in bringing about an awareness of the manifested presence of God during worship. The author researched biblical and other historical revivals, as well as other revival literature.  He also surveyed his congregation and other pastors and ministry leaders to help determine his approach.  A theology of revival was derived from Scripture and a plan to stir a hunger for revival was developed from that theology.  The plan that was implemented focused primarily on the word of God and prayer. The writer combined a desire to promote growth through preaching from the gospels and passion for the disciplines into a project that draws the two together.  The topic of spirituality was explored widely, and the gospels were read repeatedly to see how the spiritual life was stressed therein.  The disciplines highlighted were 1) Bible intake, 2) prayer, 3) fasting, 4) solitude, 5) submission, 6) worship/celebration, and 7) generosity. The acknowledgment of a 'paralysis' is the first movement toward healing. The methodologies used to achieve these goals were pretests, posttests, questionnaires, and qualitative research data. The project consisted of four ninety-minute sessions which focused on renewed energy and change. The chaplain conducted a pre-test spiritual assessment, three months of spiritual intervention, and a post-test spiritual assessment. The initial spiritual injuries scores were documented; then the chaplain provided spiritual intervention group therapy, individual counseling, and chapel services to address the patient's spiritual injuries and move the patient toward a spiritual awakening and increased sobriety.
