What makes this retreat and The Sourcebook unique is that it integrates the Hindu chakra system and world spiritual traditions. The chakra system is an ancient belief that there are energy centers in the body that govern daily activity. It begins by outlining the theological basis for the study. The project then contrasts western and non-western worldviews, detailing some of the assumptions underlying each one, and comparing western worldview constructs with the mysticism of Java. Following an extended case study there are nineteen interactive reflective studies on specific themes related to spiritual conflicts. Missionaries and missionary candidates evaluated the interactive studies.
