Formerly trained assistants were provided an opportunity to learn the role and skills necessary to become directors as they developed an individual retreat. The retreat itself consisted of common prayer, meals, work time, personal reflection and small group sharing. Participants completed a full one-day retreat which included lectures, participative exercises, spiritual disciplines such as formational prayer, and Lectio Divina. Pre and post tests were given to measure the results. The results of the data revealed increased movement in the participants' self-esteem. Further positive measurement evidenced a desire for Christian fellowship and a deeper relationship with God.
