The model involves the pastor and a lay team in two sessions to identify the narrative of the church's story.  A survey solicits information and stories from a cross-section of the church membership.  The project showed positive results in that teams from four congregations participated and indicated that they did enjoy, relish and learn from the congregation's stories of life and faith and were helped to discover a number of factors which form a congregation's identity. Its methodology challenges Catholics conditioned into a passive faith stance by the lingering age of typography to listen, learn, and tell the sacred stories in a public forum.  By reclaiming the power of the oral traditions, the process of biblical storytelling forms small faith communities actively proclaiming and passing on the tradition while enhancing the liturgy of the Word.  It provides an immediate ecclesial solution to the shortage of priests by restructuring local sacramental communities into evangelists themselves.
