This project examines three ways a congregation used narrative to explore personal faith. The author created story salons as a means to connect personal narratives with biblical and other narratives. Second the author describes a class he created to use creative writing as a spiritual discipline. Finally the author wrote a novel, Galleotto, which explores doubt as a means toward reintegrated faith. To that end, this these constructs a pastoral storytelling methodology and guidebook. The pastoral storytelling methodology is focused on pastoral care situations such as in-office counseling, hospital visitation, and in-home visitation. But the methodology is not limited to use in formal counseling situations. It is designed so that it can be used any time and place pastoral care is needed. In addition, the project director researched the field of chronological Bible storying in order to identify essential themes relevant to personal evangelism training among millennials. He used that information to develop and conduct a workshop aimed at training the selected leaders in personal evangelism by using aspects of chronological Bible storying. The workshop addressed attitudes, experiences, and barriers regarding personal evangelism, the basics of the millennial worldview, the importance of Bible storying, essential themes of the Bible, and personal engagement skills. The project director researched worldview and its impact on mission strategy. He further researched orality and orality-based mission strategies. He devised an equipping workshop to introduce a group of church members to the concepts of worldview and orality, and to Bible storying as a culturally appropriate orality-based mission strategy for developing house church leaders among the internally displaced people of Colombia. The project utilized several evaluative measures, including an expert-evaluated annotated bibliography, and expert critique of the lesson plans, pre- and post-workshop questionnaires, and a workshop evaluation form. The project director increased his knowledge of worldview and its implications for mission strategy. He also increased his understanding of orality and of Bible storying as a contextually-appropriate orality-based missions methodology. While each church responded differently to the idea of this exercise, it was beneficial in each church to see how storytelling created community. The final Sumbi CBS was based on research of sixteen different CBS sets, expat and national experts' input, the author's worldview study and the author's field test with thirteen national church planters. Key CPM principles implemented through CBS include sowing the Word abundantly, finding a Person of Peace, leading an oikos to Christ, forming House Churches, and equipping lay leaders. Personal testimonies realistically depict our everyday life and are at the core of who we are as Christians. In sharing our testimony of what God has done for us in a corporate worship service, we create the space for authentic God-talk to take place among Christians. The basic hypothesis is that since the advent of the megachurch, the small Black churches have followed the trend and exchanged the mid-week testimony and Bible study service for the 'pastor's Bible study.' In losing the testimony service, members lost the vehicle to share their stories and experiences of the Holy Spirit and how they have overcome in difficult situations.
