Through interviews of congregational leaders and randomly selected members, the researcher assessed the pre-decision knowledge and attitude of the members concerning the topic. A presentation on the topic was then prepared and presented to the congregation. Following the decision, those members involved were questioned as to what factors contributed to their decision. In a workshop setting participants explored four concepts of strategic planning: 1) shaping direction, 2) inspiring commitment 3) developing supportive relationships, and 4) facilitating change. These concepts were contextualized in a peer-learning cluster and further customized in an individual coaching experience. The project director increased his knowledge in disciple-making strategies and his skill in strategic planning. A strategy planning team was selected and trained to develop a disciple-making strategy based on the demographic research and other disciple-making strategies discovered by the project director.
