The literary research investigated biblical and historical bases for cell-group ministry. The sociopsychological research assessed the quality of Christian community evidenced within the small group movement. The field research was helped by seven cell-group leaders of KBC. The methodology presented in this project is a combination of the following six components.  The director of Church of God World Missions has vast practical experience at various levels of leadership.  His desire is for a practical approach that has a large portion of training time taking place in an overseas or foreign context.  The next area of focus concentrates on strategic leadership meetings. While much time has been spent consulting with Church of God World Missions, other key departments have been consulted within our denomination as well. The third area of impact on the methodology of this project is the literature review.  Various sources have been used including lecture notes, books, and dissertations on holistic discipleship.  In addition, the literature review gathers specific information for the missionary training manual that is not a part of this dissertation project.  Another major factor that influences this project is my past ten years of experience in leading a discipleship training program.  These years of experience play a crucial role in shaping the discipleship component of the missionary training paradigm.  The fifth major area that has shaped this project is the courses and faculty I have been exposed to at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Several professors taught modules that have helped establish a holistic discipleship structure to minister to the whole person.  The final component is the data that was received from current Church of God missionaries that completed the design questionnaire. Participants described the content, mode and personnel involved in their training, and gave suggestions for improvements, most rating it adequate for what they encountered, and indicating increased interest in long-term service. Personal participation in missions has been missing in many traditional South Carolina Baptist churches. There is a need to shift to a new paradigm of doing missions.  A growing number of South Carolina Baptist churches have implemented a partnership strategy--resulting in greater involvement among the congregation.  The methodology used in this field research was a case study involving six churches.  These churches had little missions involvement until adopting the partnership strategy. The project director researched demographics, interviewed national pastors and international missionaries, studied cultural nuances, and accumulated other data in order to understand the cultural and religious context in which a new church would be planted. From this collected data, the project director developed a strategy that involved the usage of a team approach to planting a new church. The International Mission Board regional leadership for Brazil decided to delay any action on the strategy developed for this project because of logistical problems related to the fact that the region was in the midst of a major transition. The Eastern and Western South America Regions were joined to form the South American Region.
