Considering that many churches are declining or have plateaued, this study sought to discover practical, effective strategies and techniques that have contributed to overall church growth by baptism and conversion. The author asked what these practices were, how they were taught, and how they were modeled by the leadership. The author's research preceding the case study gives a review and foundation from the early church's teaching and experience in evangelism, discipleship, missions, pastoral leadership, and church growth to the present. A closer look was given at the causes and effects of little to no obedience and commitment to the Great Commission. A significant finding in the case study was that even though the two selected churches were different in age of the church, style of worship, and emphasis on missions abroad, both placed high emphasis on the importance of conversion and percentage of members who have been absent from worship for a significant period of time. The project is a study of congregational approaches and strategies for ministry to inactives. The research portion of the project included a survey of large rural congregations regarding their approach to inactive members. A follow-up interview was conducted with pastors of selected congregations that participated in the survey. This research, along with the literature review, informed the recommendations for a comprehensive approach for Christian caregiving of inactives in a large, rural congregation. The development of an exit strategy in missions partnership serves as the backdrop from which this investigation evolved. The literature on empowerment, the historical review of Converge Worldwide's sixty years of engagement in the Philippines, and the literature on missions exit strategies were critically read and analyzed in this study. In addition, the researcher conducted surveys and interviews to assess the current realities, challenges, and trends in doing missions in the Philippines. The eight-week study sought to empower students with an understanding of what being a disciple means and having an ability to implement the practices of disciples. At the conclusion of the workshop, students were equipped to begin meeting with two or three students, training them to be disciple-making disciples. The need for this training was significant due to an apparent void of university students who are disciple-making disciples.
