The research is primarily directed towards etiology and focuses on adolescent and mass hysteria cases. This study found that individuals with Conversion Disorder seemed to experience depression-like symptoms. Furthermore, the results indicated that ongoing family and marital strife was significantly related to conversion disorder. The findings indicate a lack of conflict resolution skills to deal with the stress of the conflicts. A qualitative phenomenological research design was employed. The author utilized an interview protocol based on identified stressors cited in previous research. Seven major stressors were noted by participants with safety concerns, absence of field-specific training, and cross-cultural conflict being the most prominent. Three categories of stressors emerged: individual stress, cross-cultural stress, and professional stress. An online survey covered the sources and symptoms of stress, coping strategies utilized, and the effectiveness of resources. Overall trends were identified, as well as differences in gender, age, and field location. The primary stressor was high expectations of oneself or feeling inadequate. Although their physical and emotional symptoms showed that they were significantly  impacted by stress, they responded in healthy ways. The major sources of stress were time demands, school work, and finances/debt.  The major symptoms of stress were tiredness, anxiety, and irritability. Working with a 'continual assessment' research model, the project enlists several ministers in semimonthly sessions of Sabbath rest over a period of five months. Through these points of identification individuals are challenged to reexamine their pasts, assess offenses committed, and resolve them through confession.
