Conclusions are drawn from a survey of works on the critical factors that contribute to the process of spiritual formation. Spiritual formation is 'being alive to God' and 'being like God.' That is, a person undergoing spiritual formation grows in intimacy, love, devotion and knowledge of God and becomes more like God in his thoughts, emotions, desires and behavior. The basic factors in this process are: (1) what God has done for the believer, (2) what God has made possible for him/her, and (3) how a Christian responds to what God has done and made possible for him/her. These factors are rooted in God's sovereign grace. God makes spiritual formation possible and works with his people as they go through the process of spiritual formation. This two credit hour academic course on spiritual formation has been developed for undergraduate students at a Christian university. Students will gain valuable knowledge regarding spiritual formation and experience training that is critical for a lifestyle that makes spiritual formation possible. The course design was evaluated by several university faculty members who approved it 'across the board.'"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130804021100544,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:37:25.119Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:06:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:45:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f77dcad9-a434-4119-ba16-9332cfd34899","accessControl_ssim":["45e2d0ac-4814-4be2-beba-bce4cc5016d6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Group spiritual direction among emerging adults"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:06:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:12:24Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6dd5f1fb-428b-4879-a464-81c927a39e3f"],"hasLease_ssim":["8b1a6f4e-c5c2-475f-adae-a875a2dab1ab"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Dwight H Judy"],"year_tesim":["2014"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David E MacDonald"],"keyword_tesim":["Tests and measurements in religion"],"publisher_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Students--Religious life","Church work with students","Maturation (Psychology)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["A field research report describing Merge, a group spiritual direction process among first year students at Ohio Northern, a United Methodist-related university. Merge was found to attract spiritually aware emerging adults who were seeking an outlet for spiritual growth in college."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fc8e637d-6b92-421f-936e-4844dc981265"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135117539803136,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:45:58.811Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:24:53Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:09:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bb34bd2f-3b01-49d7-a6f9-8d14d64aca8a","accessControl_ssim":["4ee36b88-ad2f-4e4a-bc5d-424fe83b7b04"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Why aren't more Christian college students active members of a local church and how the local church can effectively engage them"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:24:52Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:31:02Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6afe444b-c945-4b75-93e1-85bc054bf0c3"],"hasLease_ssim":["0b1afd2f-fba6-4db7-8f7b-5fcb9e1dad43"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["W Michael Wilson"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brad L Jurkovich"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Commitment to the church","Texas Tech University","Students--Religious life","Church work with students"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project was pursued in order to discern the attitudes of Christian students who attend Texas Tech University with regard to their desire to have or not to have a relationship with the local church. College students are some of the most mold-able and send-able people and, for this reason, I will focus this thesis on them. My argument will be to identify the student volunteer movement's methodology and compare it with today's mobilization methodology. I will then compare the theological paradigms of today to those of the student volunteer movement's era. Using the historical methodology approach, I will compile these findings in an effort to research thoroughly the problem of How to Mobilize Christian Students to be Global Christians. I will conclude the thesis by applying seven common principles from the student volunteer movement so that today's mobilization of Christian students to be global Christians can be maximized."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129976436686848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:24:15.873Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:24:04Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:37:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0f30371e-75de-41fb-8546-1af7295a2f4f","accessControl_ssim":["713c33e1-93d8-4d83-8fdc-6b5004d80790"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Integrity of heart and skillful hands: guiding the spiritual formation of undergraduate student worship leaders at Messiah College"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:24:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:33:10Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ade7dc61-d0a5-4fe8-bc1c-2c3488ad823d"],"hasLease_ssim":["515b2a8e-6dcb-48bc-8e3b-67104899e86d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Carol Ann Cook Moore"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Some are involved in music department ensembles which require their participation, several are over-involved in leadership activities, and others have rigorous majors. These student leaders need at least two formational realities: a spiritual formation model that does not add another layer of activity to their already hectic lives, and an intentional formational relationship with a pastoral educator-mentor who can help them engage in meaningful practices of Christian spiritual formation and deepen their skills in worship leadership. Distinctive pilot groups allowed the author to research, investigate, and delineate ideas and models for intentional formation mentoring. Evaluation of project activities, survey and interview responses, and different data forms rendered key findings to inform the re-formulation of the worship community in the context of Messiah College."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714900163952640,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:37:57.140Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":50,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
