A long range training focusing upon a philosophy and strategy of ministry needs to be communicated.  This project attempts to provide some of that training through advanced Sonlife program that builds upon the basic seminar and helps youth pastors develop additional skills in effective church-related youth work. Research was done in an attempt to answer this question.  The proper church officials and the church's ministry are identified in twelve church groups. A community service model was developed to help promote student volunteering, blood drives, and mission by the local church.  A pilot study using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory showed: 1) levels of anxiety decrease following a blood donation, and 2) the number of previous blood donations decreases the levels of anxiety.  An analogy drawn between the blood donor table and the Table of the Lord demonstrated parallels. In 1996 when the research began the college had no means of evaluating and assessing the spiritual formation program. The desire was to develop and test an assessment tool for the spiritual formation of students at LCC.  The hypothesis was that LCC was accomplishing its goals in spiritual formation.  The research methodology sought to develop and test the tool form an initial pretest in May, 1996 and a posttest in May, 2000.  The pretest/posttest model was employed, supported by interviews, and a spiritual well-being instrument. A cross-disciplinary model of hope was constructed using the writings of philosophers Bloch and Marcel, theologian Moltmann and psychologist Erikson. Secondly, using the Snyder Hope Scale, the Cooper-Smith Self Esteem Sale and Paloutzian and Ellison's Spiritual Well-Being Scale, the study tested the model by investigating the relationship amongst hope, self esteem and spiritual well-being in Australian students.  Subjects were 414 students from undergraduate programs offered by Australian Catholic University.  The study found that students had a high degree of hope, expressing this in goal-related thoughts and in action for social justice. The project was concerned about program objectives, design and results. The project examined theological, theoretical and cultural background studies useful to the appraisal. The project presented the history of the Home Bible Seminary in Thailand. A questionnaire was used to gain the students' perspective on the program. The study included recommendations on how to improve the program. The method of this project is enlisting, training, and sending out a select group of fraternity and sorority students to initiate small group Bible studies within those students' specific Greek organizations. The original Oremus was built around the Daily Prayer Cycle.  The initial vision for the new edition was to retain several of the Daily Offices, but broaden it to include contemporary hymns, texts and prayers written by students and campus ministry staff.  Early in the project the question arose as to whether one generation can write a worship resource for another generation.  Therefore, the editorial process included an extensive questionnaire that was sent to regional officers of the Lutheran Student Movement, (successor to the LSAA), along with a draft of Oremus, which they were to respond to on the questionnaire along with their local worshipping communities.
