This tool will address numerous areas of leadership character and competencies; however, of particular concern is the training of leaders to think, learn, and function systematically, acknowledging the complexity of the church as a living organization as it functions in turbulent times.  All too often leaders merely emulate the leadership styles and techniques of the marketplace or corporate culture.  This project will make a careful study of a biblical theology of the church and of leadership and compare it with the growing data on systems theory and organizational learning theory.  This project will explore the use of systems theory as a means of understanding organizational design with the view to aiding leaders in their leadership function. A distinct analysis will be made of Peter Senge's model of systems thinking. The 'Parable of the Sower' model will help do this.  Process:  Students were exposed to biblical stories and reflected upon them in light of the fifth petition of the Lord's Prayer in connection with Jesus' post-resurrection appearance command (John 20:23).  Changes in their answers to the same questions before and after the process were evaluated.
