The training further reduced participants' fear of death and increased beneficial styles and types of death acceptance as measured by the Death Attitude Profile-Revised (DAP-R). Using resources modeled on palliative care, leaders assist congregants through the stages of merger or closure.  An educational course for leaders participating in the Lay Servant Ministry program of the United Methodist Church was created.
