The author surveyed the history of the dualism/monism debate, the biblical view and the philosophical and scientific arguments for each side, in order to explicate the issue. The self cries out to be recognized and esteemed but is vulnerable to culture and the environment. When identity-development is stifled it sometimes builds an external identity to live vicariously. This project taught the creation narrative to South Korean women to help them realize that their identity is 'Beloved of God.' They have immeasurable value in spite of their inherent sinful inclinations. First, to examine any biblical or theological bases for preaching to men differently than preaching to women. The conclusion was that men were created differently, were perceived differently by the Hebrew culture and were communicated with differently by Jesus Christ. Second, to research any psycho-sociological literature that would support the first finding, that men perceive the world differently, process thought and learn differently and need to be communicated with differently. The research design combined thirteen weeks of instruction, weekly sermonic reading, daily practice of the spiritual disciplines, and evaluation instruments.
