He describes the context out of which the school operates and the history of its field work program.  The author interviewed thirty students of the school for input on results and expectations of cross-cultural input on results and expectations.  After reviewing the answers to the student questionnaires, the author prepared an operational guide for cross-cultural ministry trips sponsored by the school. Mentoring is highlighted as an alternative method for African Americans to meet field education requirements. Afrocentricity is an ideological foundation for the ministerial preparation of African American seminarians. The Afrocentric Mentoring Program demonstrates a culturally harmonious model of theological field education for African American students.
