To accomplish this great task, churches require spiritual leaders who have such a burden, adequate training, and ability to lead them. This is the reason for the existence of theological education, and in order to train those leaders, seminaries need a new set of curriculums; Chinese seminaries in Myanmar are no exception. Success or failure of theological education is closely related to its curriculum. Data was collected by researching biblical, historical, theological, and secular literature on discipleship and mentorship. A quantitative and a qualitative study showed a definite correlation exists between perceived effectiveness of the curriculum and the students' perceptions of their teachers' performances. The project involved participation of graduating seminary students in a course on Christian growth and practice of spiritual disciplines. Participants reflected on their relationship with God and committee to maintaining a growing relationship with God. The first chapter describes some complaints from the parishioners in the diocese of Kirinyaga of clergy who are currently serving in various parishes and are not qualified enough to meet the needs of the Christians in the pews.  The second chapter is an outline of curriculum issues in ACK colleges.  The third chapter gives Biblical Foundations for Theological Education, and the impact of these foundations on theological education today.  The fourth chapter presents the research data analysis based on the five categories of the respondents who completed and returned the questionnaires.  There respondents were: students, clergy, laity, tutors and bishops. An outline of the issues and concerns put forward by the respondents shows that review and evaluation of the current curriculum is urgent and important. Together, the quantitative and qualitative aspects of this study revealed that Concordia is a strong academic institution that effectively imparts theological knowledge that is foundational for pastoral ministry, and that it successfully teaches its students to think theologically. Alternative approaches to traditional theological education are necessary to close the gap between the classroom and the church.  The author surveyed students who attended the Canadian Pentecostal Seminary with its alternative approach to theological education and ministry training.  His findings indicated that CPS was strong in the area of traditional knowledge, but weaker in the areas of practical skills development and spiritual formation. A pretest and posttest were used to determine the knowledge and practice of different types of prayer, the knowledge and experience of the work of the Holy Spirit and the commitment to self-care.  Results show that students gained in their knowledge and understanding of formational prayer and made a better commitment to self-care.
