The training of the 14 pastors took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2002. The group had one year to put the principles learnt into practice. The class met twice after the one-year period to reevaluate the ten principles they had previously learnt. The project proved that it was possible to plant churches using the ten leadership principles gathered from Paul's speech at Miletus. 5 new churches were planted and the other 9 that had existed before this project began grew by 33% to 185%. Kohut's theory has been repeatedly appropriated by pastoral counselors, but Barth's theology has seldomly been applied to pastoral care and counseling. While both theories are 'logically diverse,' each offers a relational perspective that is essential to human existence.
