In order to determine the theological validity of contemporary worship music, the author created a theological analysis tool with both evaluative and non-evaluative questions. Applying that tool to a sample study of more than seventy contemporary worship songs, he determined that while there are many theologically inadequate songs in widespread usage, there are also a great number of contemporary worship songs that do contain theological integrity. The project explores the critical relationship between arts and theology, as explored in a praxis model of integration, through pottery. Writings of theologians John Calvin, Paul Tillich, Michael Polanyi, Douglas John Hall, and artists M. C. Richards, Paulus Berehnson, Catherine Kapikian, and Daniel de Montmollin, Brother of Taize, are considered. Church members, staff, and participants in More than a meal program at Idlewild Church, a program for persons who are homeless or living in compromised situations, were invited to join a series of pottery classes, resulting in nearly sixty persons working together every week, over a seven-week period, concluding with an exhibit of 652 finished pots. It uses his primary works (especially City of God, Confessions, On Christian teaching, Commentary on Galatians and 84 propositions from the Epistles of Romans) as they develop Paul's theology of sin. It builds a theological foundation (based on four theological issues about sin: its origin, its nature, its consequence, and its remedy) in order to establish a correct understanding of the topic of sin in a contemporary context. Ultimately, it utilizes that information to develop a practical theology that is integrated into applicable Christian living in four areas: soteriology, evangelism, ecclesiology, and discipleship. The significance of the book of Revelation, especially Revelation 12 and 13, is presented as the theme book for developing a strong biblical foundation. Based on her study, this researcher recommends a stronger integration of biblical theology and missiology in order to establish a biblical foundation for spiritual warfare. In addition, this research suggests a need of a leadership or mission conference for the development of leaders in cross-cultural contexts. In this paper the author makes the case that equality of essence on the one hand, and permanent subordination on the other -- whether applied to the Trinity or the relationship between men and women -- is a questionable premise and is not supported logically, historically, or biblically. The question is vexing for United Methodists who practice 'open communion' and who are open to high levels of church involvement from non-members. This project focuses on NC United Methodist's appropriation of Wesleyan ecclesiology to determine an appropriate response. Sermons from district superintendents and interviews with formerly unchurched United Methodists are utilized to clarify the Wesleyan answer to this perennial question. The answer to this question is the focus of this project.  Using Experiential Reframing as a lens through which to read these documents of communal (Jeremiah) and individual (Job) trauma suffering, this project shows evidence of a process of healing in the Hebrew Bible similar to 'new' models of trauma therapy.
