This paper focuses on the recovery of soul and on the care of souls in the practice of pastoral care and counseling. Research focuses on the depth psychology of Carl Gustav Jung and the gospel of John. A comparison is made between the Self, the central archetype in the psychology of Carl Jung, and the Christ presented in archetypal symbols in John. Both address the creative, dynamic, unifying center of personality; Jung does so in psychological language, John in theological/christological language. It is a concern that many churches have not come to terms with. In Australia unemployment was a major concern in the early part of the 1980's. This study looks at one major industrial city, namely, Wollongong in N.S.W. and considers the responsibility of the church to do ministry with the unemployed. It raises the preliminary issues of consciousness raising within the church on the issues of unemployment. It looks at economic, sociological, and theological aspects of unemployment and then proceeds to use the process of structural analysis as a tool in a workshop situation. The process of doing theology receives considerable attention because it represents a biblical and theological framework for shaping ministry with the unemployed."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716943324774400,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:10:25.650Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:49:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:32:09Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e31f590d-1e19-4e33-ab28-e96b27c7a5ea","accessControl_ssim":["2ddebff3-69b3-439e-b6eb-6ff9495428fb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A model for expanding students' vision of church, spirituality, and ministry to the poor through contextual theological reflection"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:49:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:37:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3ae7e05f-e091-4f27-a710-e7c9d0ef4721"],"hasLease_ssim":["ac760552-9f0e-4133-be55-8e8d21b024dd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Seminary of the Immaculate Conception (Huntington, NY)"],"advisor_tesim":["Dennis Regan"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["S Margaret Tully"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Contextual"],"publisher_tesim":["Seminary of the Immaculate Conception"],"subject_tesim":["Students--Religious life","Poor and the church","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project was designed to connect suburban college students with the poor.
