Working within the paradigm of the Quaker listening model, as described by activist and educator Parker J. palmer and others, the intentional use of a spiritually based therapeutic listening model is an effective tool used by the Registered Nurse (RN) in working with patients and their families in making decisions in critical care settings. Eating, drinking, and enjoyment represent communal practices that counteract the social fragmentation of living under hegemonic bureaucracy. Central to this argument is a fresh understanding of Qoheleth that is developed out of the sage's own socio-historical context as illustrated by his use of bureaucratically and economically evocative language.  Qoheleth's commendations function to re-orient the reader toward simple practices that contrast imperial values. The fourth hypothesis considers the influence of other socio-cultural conditions that bear upon the process of discipleship. This observation prompted this project on evangelism as an imperative redemptive mission of God for church growth. Students at Deeper Life School of Evangelism participated in focus groups about possible solutions to this problem. The Triune god was set forth as the primary example for relationship and the Leader in initiating and facilitating of discipleship. By taking thirty adult (ages 21 and older), American, Christian women through a period of evangelical catechesis, my project indicated that catechized women demonstrate a greater knowledge of biblical and theological concepts than before the implementation of the program. The goals were measured in a survey including eighteen statements ranked on a seven-point Likert Scale and six open-ended statements giving respondents their own voice. The results show a fairly high regard for orthodoxy with some anomalies indicating postmodern cultural influences.
