The author develops a theology of hopeful worship, based on the understanding that in worship we participate in a Messianic banquet already begun in the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Beginning with a review of current literature about eschatological dimensions of worship, the author describes major authors in the field, their issues, and their insights. The project constructs a theology of hopeful worship based on eschatological dimensions of regular weekly worship services, sacraments of baptism and the Eucharist, and a liturgical calendar. The author concludes that concentration on eschatological dimensions of worship makes those who worship aware not only of the 'end times' but also of the nearness of Christ. Realizing the presence of Christ in worship can potentially transform those who worship into those who base their hope on Christ's life, death, and future."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f245891-e4c1-47d9-842b-9aefbafae138"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135092802846720,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:45:35.220Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:45:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:44:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0004e69f-9aaa-49f2-b143-5fe26caf2885","accessControl_ssim":["89b72dfd-412a-4988-af1e-25c68a6a809f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Identifying and claiming a model of spirituality"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:45:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:07:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["27a256d5-747f-42fa-9f40-5c6052f04b5d"],"hasLease_ssim":["7d3ab055-6430-4347-8579-f62b4aebe3d5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis R Donelson"],"year_tesim":["1996"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Georgia Lee Adamson"],"publisher_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Wesley, John, 1703-1791","Women clergy","Methodist Church","Spiritual life--Christianity","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["A United Methodist clergywoman seeks to identify, articulate, claim, and portray her working model of spirituality, while also seeking to deepen her understanding of Wesley's approach to spirituality. Hispanic theology strives to find points of contact between the socio-historical experience of Latino communities and their religious expressions. Latino theological thought discusses topics which are important for the Latino people--like migration--by confronting the challenges of today with the biblical and theological experiences of the past. Hispanic theologians establish a correlation between the social location of the Latino people and that of the biblical texts. The implications of this correlation are evoked by a key metaphor that embodies their findings and functions, thus, as a paradigmatic concept. Then, the paradigm is used to exegete both the Bible and Hispanic reality. This dissertation discusses such thesis and states the implications of this hermeneutical model for Latino theological thought."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128761853280256,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:04:57.555Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:36:59Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:53:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"430cb728-6e58-4ed4-88f5-1efbcfed26ac","accessControl_ssim":["a5cc7160-42ac-4309-a02e-85cca7339c9d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching as a 'theological act': a theology of confession and encounter based on minjung and tochakwha theologies"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:36:58Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:04:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f7f4a4ca-96af-4b43-b46e-827f79671ff0"],"hasLease_ssim":["c01d9227-57b9-4ef2-82c6-38ce908e9e3a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Claremont School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Kathy Black"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"location_tesim":["Korea"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Il-Koo Cho"],"publisher_tesim":["Claremont School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project is an attempt to provide an appropriate theology of preaching in the Korean context. Even though there have emerged many theologies in the world since the radical theological movements of the 1960s, none of these theologies have been sufficient or proper contextual theologies for Korea. This theology is in fact an integreation and supplementation of two Korean contextual theologies: Minjung and Tochakwha theologies. Therefore, this theology is the direct expression of the socio-political and cultural dimensions of the Korean people. As a paradigm of theology of preaching, this theology will result in contextual preaching. The results of the study are intended for cathegetical instruction to increase understanding of Wesleyan holiness theology by those of Reformed backgrounds."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128680461762560,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:03:39.934Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:45:30Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:57:58Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"711daed9-38bc-4a1c-99e1-a1c8f372fa03","accessControl_ssim":["5950c754-5b99-4257-8eff-5ccff35dbd93"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Dual cultural ministry for Korean immigrants based upon theology of reconciliation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:45:29Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:26:50Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a8913ea6-647a-4189-a046-07723ae73671"],"hasLease_ssim":["c29aa873-2fae-4825-8abf-3f64832494e8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert C Worley"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Chang-Su B Chung"],"keyword_tesim":["Reconciliation (Theology)"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Korean Americans","Intergenerational relations","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project/dissertation was to improve the relationship between first generation Korean immigrants and the second generation, and between church and community, based upon principle of theology of reconciliation in connection with the idea, interpretation, and application of family-centered Korean cultural system and ethical standards. This study provides theories of interpretation and knowing for spiritual directors. The unconscious is variously understood to impede knowledge, to provide the building blocks for all knowledge and to constitute the essential prerequisites for religious knowledge and experience. Models are used to organize diverse theories. Catholic theological structure, defined by the magesterium, is used because of theological conviction and the opinion that religious knowledge requires interface between personal structures with superordinate structures.
