The model was tested in the Barberton/Norton Cluster of the greater Akron, Ohio, area. Contextual associates from the five churches studied their context, constructed a theological model, and systematically evaluated the current status and potential of church relationship before designing the process.  This model describes the process and presents its conclusions and evaluation. Ten men and women in the Dalton District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church committed four weeks to the project.  The district superintendent was the convener, a co-participant, and provided leadership by precept and example.  Sessions included theological foundations of wellness, a medical evaluation of each participant, identification of healthy eating and exercise habits, and application of learnings to the local church and community.  All participants met at least one of their goals relating to diet and/or exercise.
