Pastors are beset with identity and career stresses and burnout. Thousands of persons are looking for spiritual meaning. Upper Room Ministries established a Two Year Academy for Spiritual Formation (ASF) with the aim of enhancing the Christian faith and the spiritual well-being of pastors and laity. This project sought to discover from a sample of thirty ordained UM clergy whether ASF nurtured spiritual maturity in the lives of its ordained participants and in what manner it affected their lives and ministries."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["6c1e11e8-b66e-47b6-8fe9-6c546c20935c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134604248219648,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:37:49.298Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:50:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:37:40Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5477ebaa-f26a-4540-802f-f52f02e36f59","accessControl_ssim":["5c8437a4-7bb6-4514-8838-be48b6453ce5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The attitude and practice of pastoral effectiveness: key things a pastor must learn to be and do"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:49:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:36:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a409336a-63f7-4d62-99c6-4a1ff46d88f9"],"hasLease_ssim":["5b942bc8-3a46-4797-958b-58466e61608a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Philip D Douglass"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John Michael Jones"],"publisher_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["United Methodist Church--Clergy","Spiritual life--Christianity","United Methodist Church (U.S.). The results were as follows: since pastoral effectiveness is something that only God can produce, pastors must rely upon the Holy Spirit in their ministries. Pastoral efectiveness flows from the daily personal relationship pastors have with Christ and must be continually measured against God's word. Pastoral effectiveness enables others to understand and live out God's agenda in their lives, and is further enhanced when pastors seek to glorify God."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130825697263616,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:37:45.790Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T06:55:16Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:41:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5004f737-a022-4735-93ae-4b085ab38ea3","accessControl_ssim":["2b1720b5-467f-4adc-9820-ca32277dfee5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Building grace upon grace: sustaining spiritual wholeness and growth in christian discipleship for pastors through . . . covenant . . ."],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T06:55:16Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:28:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4473b96e-0036-4865-a74c-3cbd7f8ec9c6"],"hasLease_ssim":["ef5135fb-0dda-4b91-adfa-2eaa87adcbad"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David Lowes Watson"],"year_tesim":["1998"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The instrument sought information about the past life pattern of the respondent and whether the person desired to return to ministry and was successful.
