The author used action research to study: (1) the initial intercultural competence among campus staff (2) training elements appropriate for the group and purpose (3) changes after training and (4) evidence of the training model's effectiveness. Data collection included pre-training Intercultural Development Inventory [registered symbol] assessments and post-training survey. College students completed a survey instrument that demonstrated many anti-Christian hostilities. As a result of that survey, a curriculum was developed to be used among college-bound mid-adolescents to equip them with the necessary tools to defend and stand firm in their Christian faith. Alongside the curriculum, the survey instrument also indicated the need and value for an active mentoring ministry to be employed amongst the church's mid-adolescents. The project deals with the historical, theological, biblical, and missiological perspectives of the project. It then sets forth an organizational structure and an educational philosophy for the proposal. Finally, it proposes specific curricula for both undergraduate and graduate levels of ministerial education. Field interviews and library research comprised the primary methodology. The context for this effort was Mount Vernon Nazarene College, Mount Vernon, Ohio.  The program focused on the use of student singing groups to make the contact for the college with the churches.
