Based on the love commandment, this project outlines a four-part workshop presented to the First Christian Church in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Methodology entailed instruction, preparation for specific visits, with feedback and discussion to reflect on effectiveness of calls made and-or need for further istruction. Because many ministries to this population are patronizing in nature, leave out the families, and are not intentional in training and implementation, the need was felt to develop a plan which would be more comprehensive and intentional. The author includes a study of attitudes toward persons with disabilities, and two questionnaires.  Some pastoral care theories and practices are reviewed.  Conclusions are affirmative of contributions made by pastors with disabilities.  Those who have 'been there' do create a better sense of rapport with clients or parishioners going through painful life experiences.
