The program is based upon theological and historical foundations. The areas of training include communication skills, the use of prayer and testimony, and sharing the stories and promises of Scripture. Worship services were videotaped and later played in homes of the sick.  The sick had fellowship with laity as they saw relatives and friends in the videotaped services.  They felt a part of the Body of Christ.  Laity fellowshipped in preparatory meetings prior to going into homes. Goals included: to determine attitudes of parishioners towards pastoral visitation; to analyze the pastor's role in visitation; and to evaluate referrals made after visits.  The biblical, theological, and historical foundations of pastoral visitation were examined. The program of visitation was described and results analyzed.
