The investigation was undertaken by means of an in-depth clinical case study of Roman Catholic women who had experienced the sense of being called to religious life. The mutual influence of spiritual and psychosocial growth was illustrated by means of the case material within the limits of the case study methodology. The project demonstrated that the poor are central to the church's concept of justice, and central to its mission.  Results obtained from seminarians' evaluations and the objective results of the Readiness for Ministry Profile indicated that the seminarians were likely to possess five of the six qualities deemed necessary for ministry for justice.
