Using a methodology developed from Latin@ theologies and the tool of web ethnography, the author studies the web and social media sites of four HSIs in different geographic regions. Critical pedagogies and LatCrit theory provide lenses to evaluate the data gathered through web ethnographies. Studies, including a timeline, theological world views, demographic profiles and church records, helped members learn about the context and identity of the church. Insights from these studies guided the Web Site Team and minister as they designed the web site. The researcher then directed these responses to a focus group of Christian experts who analyzed these responses to determine some of the barriers involved in communicating the gospel through a web site.  The focus group offered recommendations for web site design and implementation so that internet based evangelism efforts might be more effective.
