A subsequent purpose was to present those findings to the Department of Local Church Education of the Wesleyan Church for practical consideration and utilization.  The primary purpose was accomplished through research in records and publications preserved in the denominational archives. The subsequent purpose was accomplished in a seminar presentation to the department. The workshop was developed upon concepts drawn from the Wesleyan tradition.  The case study was conducted in a congregation of the Church of the Nazarene.  The objectives were to foster personal spiritual development and increase skills to be a spiritual guide to others.
