When these issues and concerns are addressed and understood in relationship to women's psychological and faith development, women are enabled by those in ministry to develop in all aspects of life more fully."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133215743803392,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:15:45.117Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:35:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:41:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"3761cbbe-0cf4-4258-aaa8-931b22bffd1e","accessControl_ssim":["786ebf6d-d090-46e0-8c9a-4759da9c5834"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["New mission strategies for urban industrial mission focused on Korean women minjung"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:35:40Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:44:17Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["348bb016-320e-4e72-9388-0da5ec533e1f"],"hasLease_ssim":["4225efad-fd03-4038-9ee1-53ca92f39a56"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Yong Bok Kim"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Eun Ha Sohn"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Women","Korean","Church work with women","Poor and the church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation presents new mission strategies for the urban industrial mission focused on Korean women minjung (grass-root people) who struggle to survive in a harsh economic and political reality. The characteristics of the mission strategies are examined in the writer's work with the Christian women minjung movement and in her parish work with them. The new mission strategies the writer presents are those that can help women minjung become the subjects of their own lives. They will also contribute to the transformation of theology, church, and society. Undergirding this project are the psychological studies showing that children's representations of God are usually formed from internalized images of parents; these early images of God usually remain influential in a person's life. The research was conducted by means of individual interviews with both oral questions and printed word-pairs regarding the participants' parents and their current and childhood God-images. The data showed that the survivors' God-images generally did have characteristics similar to mothers. The data also showed that generally the more severe the incest and the earlier the onset, the more negative the God-image of the survivor. Other findings are noted, and implications for pastoral counseling are explored."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fc8e637d-6b92-421f-936e-4844dc981265"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134484159004672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:35:54.772Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:29:08Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:46:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"faa12b31-e21b-46ae-ad1f-08872ba3f622","accessControl_ssim":["1e894e44-a589-4768-ab6a-e4685b4acea0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Starving to life: anorexia nervosa and the birthing of the female self"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:29:07Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:17:37Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0dd193d8-3235-4a7d-af57-69d688bbee05"],"hasLease_ssim":["b24e2aa1-9ad5-40fd-a135-6d00c855cdc3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James B Ashbrook"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Julia P Brichacek"],"publisher_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Shame","Anorexia nervosa","Women","Femininity","Mothers and daughters","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This research study was designed to explore the question: is the emaciated anorexic body in part an expression of a female's shame-based gender identity, particularly as born in the mother-daughter relationship? A methodology of in-depth interviews with three 'post-anorexic' (physically recovered) women was the foundation of this qualitative study. A coding table linking shame, female identity, and the mother-daughter relationship allowed for quantification of the data. The results indicated deep shame around female identity, although the anorexia appeared more an effort to break free from a shame-bound self than a symbol of it.
