Through tools that support the exploration of the biblical, spiritual, physical and occupational aspects of vocation, individuals are able to better connect to their spiritual gifts and this in turn facilitates discernment of their vocational calling. The basis of this project was the formulation of a Notebook of Biblical Marketplace Ethics that addressed not only the issue of the Christian's attitude toward work but also established a set of personal work ethics.  A six-week course was designed and taught to a group of committed Christians using the Notebook. A lay task force developed the theology and strategy.  Implementation began with a fourteen-week seminar encouraging increased awareness and appreciation for personality and gifts as part of one's calling.  The MBTI helped people discover their personality gifts. Theoretical foundations include deontology, utilitarianism, absolutism, relativism, Michael Rion's framework from The Responsible Manager, and systems theory. Through a written survey and in-depth interviews, mangers' personal and professional experiences, attitudes, and theological beliefs were explored.  The project concludes that for numerous historical and cultural reasons, managers separate their faith from their work.  Local churches tend to reinforce that separation. Unacknowledged grief and lack of support can result.
