Evangelical churches in the modern era are no exception: while we often have solid processes for growing in our knowledge of scripture or for fellowship with fellow believers, rarely do we focus on growth in prayer. On the rare times when we do, such growth is often individual in nature rather than congregational. This imbalance is highlighted all the more when we consider that many of the existing works and programs addressing prayer are often written to address individual–rather than congregational–practices.\r\n\r\nThis project was primarily aimed at impacting the people of First Evangelical Free Church of Sioux City Iowa (Evangelical Free Church of America) in their practice of corporate prayer. This was done through two phases. The first consisted of an eight-week sermon series specifically focusing upon the Lord’s Prayer. The second phase of this intervention involved a nine-week workshop in which participants read and discussed selected prayers of the Bible alongside works from church history regarding prayer. These discussions then led into time spent praying in a group format, varying from 3-5 participants around a table to an entire workshop of 31 participants. The overall goal was to teach participants how the Lord’s Prayer provides both an example and a framework for biblical prayer in such a way that they could then apply that framework to other passages throughout the Bible in natural and contextually faithful ways.\r\nEvaluation surveys and interviews revealed that the interventions of this project were successful in their goals of making prayer part of how FEFC went about being and making disciples, and that growth was self-reported by participants in both individual and group The intent of the equipping project was to introduce the idea of further training to a selected group of pastors and house church leaders. The project was designed to demonstrate a basic overview of the concepts needed to successfully lead house churches in Costa Rica and beyond. This project to equip house church pastors in Liberia, Costa Rica was implemented on May 6 and 7 of 2022. The purpose of the equipping sessions was to expose the selected pastors and church leaders to teachings similar to what they may receive in a seminary situation, in order to encourage them to accept the offer of additional training.The project was successful in that the material was well received and that the group of pastors acknowledged their need for further training. The pre-tests and post-tests indicated that the students’ knowledge was increased as a result of the equipping sessions. As a matter of fact, the Pauline Epistles were the primary  source of my thinking.  Beyond this, it  is  safe to say that three sections of Scripture formed the core of my ecclesiology in  relationship to  Shared Ministry (Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12-15 and Ephesians 4).  Each of these passages teaches the importance of spiritual gifts among the body of believers.This limited perspective led me to read the entire bible and look for any passages which dealt with shared ministry (of any kind). Christian parents are to impress God's commands on their children so the next generation might come to know, love, and serve Him (Deut 6:6-7). Jesus charges the church to make disciples, baptize, and teach others to obey his commands (Matt 28:19-20), yet, spiritual formation is not the target it should be for most Christian families and the American church. The literature reveals a general lack in understanding of the biblical worldview in Christians across generations, and thus, believers lack confidence and motivation to share God’s worldview with others. This study sought to evaluate the effectiveness of a workshop designed to address transformation in the comprehension, commitment, and intended conduct of participants to train others to the biblical worldview. Statistical analysis revealed participants changed in understanding, confidence, and motivation toward engaging in further growth to the biblical worldview and training others to it. Anecdotal information gathered from comments on the post-training survey provided additional evidence of the above, as well as qualitative evidence demonstrating participants changed in their commitment to share God’s truth with others and planned for future change in this “commissioned” area for Christ.The workshop effectively addressed the lack of intentionality about growing in and sharing the biblical worldview with others. Historically, the focus of Christian discipleship has been to produce greater spiritual health and maturity.  Author Pete Scazzero, in his book, The Emotionally Healthy Church,  offers a paradigm of discipleship that promises to also produce greater emotional health and maturity.  This project sought to test the validity of this discipleship paradigm, by teaching and utilizing the principles of The Emotionally Healthy Church in an extended discipleship workshop process with 20-30 adult Christians within our congregation.
