The downside of this newfound affluence and status-consciousness is that a key component of why we gather together to worship has been lost.  For blacks worship is a corporate act of pastoral care.  Because of the subjugation and disenfranchisement of the race black Americans still need to 'shout' in church.  There is peril in restricting the natural emotive range of expression in the worship setting. Well prepared joint worship services and ministries could be implemented to bridge the gaps. Joint worship services with different interpretation methodologies were tested and two joint ministries were conducted. Interviews and questionnaires were used as evaluation mechanisms. Joint worship services could be able to achieve the purpose in conjunction with effective joint ministries. This project aimed at encouraging Scripture reading in the Sunday worship service of C\u0026MA churches. It involved fifteen C\u0026MA pastors who used a three-month segment of a four-year Bible reading schedule, developed for this project. Each Sunday they read the assigned reading and material given to them to help them prepare for and introduce the reading. They then filled out a questionnaire, which attempted to evaluate their reactions and ideas concerning the three-month implementation period. They also filled out a short questionnaire three months after they completed the implementation period. This questionnaire sought to identify if they were still reading Scripture regularly in worship and why they were or were not continuing in this biblical practice. A daily devotional journal related to each Sunday's teaching was given to participants. Sunday's theme and message centered on a truth about worship and were reinforced in small group studies. While continuing to engage congregants' minds, I hoped to use storytelling, graphic art, music, and dance to move beyond linear, traditional spiritual language or the regular passive forms of listening.  Creating a Mythos worhsip team to produce these interactive, experiential services monthly, I hoped to meet this objective in conjunction with lay leaders to present services in a truly shared ministry context.  The services were planned, presented and evaluated favorably by the team itself and by the congregation.
