The aim was to create a model of intergenerational worship. The project was grounded in scripture, informed by the Reformed tradition, and guided by the historical witness of the Church catholic. The project included educational opportunities that interpreted this model of worship followed by four model worship services. This experience was evaluated through congregational surveys and personal interviews. With the community seated around the table in a Presbyterian (USA) church, the congregation was studied for six-months using linked quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. Architectural, historical and theological sources from the Reformed tradition inform the study. The project provides a biblical justification for this connection, establishes a set of hermeneutical values for building God-centered sermons, and describes a model for producing messages based on those values.  The project includes a summary of two surveys of preachers, and the author's interview with Piper. The survey was completed by 113 respondents age fourteen or older at New Hope Community Church of the Nazarene in Tempe, Arizona. In most congregations less than 3% of their membership attend the Sunday services. Many attempts to establish new forms of contemporary worship have failed, either because the approaches were too demanding and time consuming or because they were focused on limited target groups and therefore could not have an impact on the congregation as a whole. Based on a creative adaptation of the biblical and Lutheran liturgical heritage the author has developed and implemented a new form of worship that has proved to be effective, appealing and visionary.
