Both children and adults were educated on the faith development and worship capabilities of children in the corporate worship setting. Biblical and psychological research was used to formulate sermons, worship manuals, and aids.  A worship committee comprised of adults and children planned and evaluated a corporate worship service to reflect the goals. Corporate worship was considered vital to the entire ministry of the local church.  During the project, a four-week sermon series focused on the nature and function of worship.  A twelve-week worship seminar developed the role and responsibility of corporate worshippers. The worship education models for John Westerhoff, Robert Browning and Roy Reed are examined and critiqued in light of a Reformed theological and historical understanding. Expressional practical is developed as a Reformed model of worship and education which joins participation, symbol, reflection, and formation.  Options for implementation are offered. The author concludes that Disciples are forsaking their historical/theological heritage in public leadership of worship. A team of laity and clergy studied worship together.  They also surveyed their congregation regarding religious roots, beliefs and expectations about worship.  The team encouraged congregational participation in and response to liturgical renewal. They wrote collects and examined, tested and edited liturgies of the United Church of Christ and other Reformed communions. The primary task in this ministry setting is to increase the worshiper's understanding that congregational worship can be both structured and spontaneous.  The issue is not formality versus informality, but planned worship versus unplanned worship.  The research tools utilized in this project were congregational surveys and a structured interview. To demonstrate this thesis, people were chosen randomly from six Lutheran congregations of various sizes and contexts for ministry.  Each person was given the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator and a worship questionnaire.  The scores of these instruments were standardized and correlated, and the statistical evidence supported the thesis.  The implications of this study for a congregation's evangelism and worship planning are manifold.
