The foundation of understanding this question is rooted in his calling to lead the covenant community. The minister is called by God not only to preach but also to serve as a leader of worship. Many ministers surrender their role as worship leader to others and view their responsibility in worship to be limited to 'bringing the message'. It is vital that every Presbyterian minister re-examine his role as the primary leader in worship as it is an important part of his calling. The minister needs to recognize that God has set him apart for this service: to lead the worshipping community in doxological worship thus preparing the congregation to receive to hear the preached Word, and to proclaim God's blessing to His people."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128562659491840,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:01:47.589Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:08:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:33:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0310da57-3356-47ce-9cc4-2831eb33dbfd","accessControl_ssim":["ae6b45cb-97cc-40c5-94fb-cccd9309a906"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The development of appropriate patterned practices of Christian corporate worship for missional purposes: an applied project of the Kansas City North Oak Church of the Nazarene"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:08:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:12:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["13c0027f-1aa3-463f-becf-d66dc754c39a"],"hasLease_ssim":["f9ea5c82-cc60-47a5-9438-39089384ff5d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Nazarene Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Judith Schwanz"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Daniel J Steele"],"publisher_tesim":["Nazarene Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Worship","Kansas City North Oak Church of the Nazarene"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The church of Jesus Christ, as a part of the rule of God, worships God and is sent by God to be part of his missionally focused action in the world. The Kansas City North Oak Church was in a stage of its life-cycle in which it needed to recover its missionaly focused purpose, with missional praxes. The purrpose of this project was to explore and test the proposition that Christian corporate worship patterns and practices will shape and support the core value that the church is 'a Missional People' into the ecclesial practice of a missional church--a church for others. The research indicated that a missionally focused church demonstrates a consistency in: (1) A congregatinoal missional core value, (2) Missionally focused patterns and practices in corporate worship, and (3), Missionally focused ecclesial praxis. Though that communication has sometimes fallen on deaf ears, the message has been delivered in multiple mediums. This history of the church has followed suit in attempting to communicate the unchanging message of the gospel into constantly changing cultures. In some eras the church has been more successful than others, but never has the medium of communication been unimportant. This study looks at the art of communication, giving particular attention to its given context and its use of multi-sensory venues to communicate the gospel. This project begins with a broad survey of some of the highlights of communication in culture, particularly related to the church. The review of literature then looks at the history of the way that God has communicated with His people throughout the biblical witness. Finally, this project studies the way that the church has attempted to communicate this good news to a world that changes. In this project, a methodology will be formulated to examine the best ways to use the expanding technologies to communicate the gospel today. Focus groups will be used to measure the effects of multi-sensory stimulants in worship. It is the author's hope that this dissertation is a stimulus and guide to a worship renewal movement in the Korean Presbyterian Church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131313374232576,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:45:30.876Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:45:25Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:56:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c429f8b5-b859-4e7f-9499-d0ed61cc066a","accessControl_ssim":["02cff535-06c6-41be-97aa-9fa7eeb4c3e5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The worship of God as the goal, the motivation and the means of missions"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:45:24Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:46:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["81132571-6aca-48f5-bd14-f009f7c5769c"],"hasLease_ssim":["844b7255-8fce-40c1-836a-a0bb8decfa89"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Martin R Crain","Tite Tiénou"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Werner Klaus Kemp"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Worship","Missions--Theory"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The goal of this project was to explore the unity of the worship of God and missions in the Bible, in relevant literature and in four case studies, under the perspective that worship is the goal, the motivation and the means of missions. The project addressed the need that many if not most churches in sending countries and those in mission fields call for true spiritual, holistic and contextualized worship to facilitate missions. Further, contemporary worship and praise movements pose a challenge in the examination of relevance for missions. The author represented the results in a workbook, which was evaluated by twelve missionaries. This project discusses some cultural issues underlying those debates and describes an experiment in seeking to revitalize Reformed worship through personal piety among church leaders within a particular congregation. Characteristics of culture and worship at the beginning of the twenty-first century are explored and contrasted with characteristics of Christian worship that intentionally seeks to embody an alternative culture. The practice of personal piety is proposed as a catalyst to worship services that glorify God, incarnate the Body of Christ as a prophetic reality, and form faithful disciples."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129777127555072,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:21:05.797Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:18:25Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:34:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"2bde0488-8b7f-45a2-9db6-1705899655d5","accessControl_ssim":["a3f35993-b775-4515-896b-9ff1765b9350"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Crafting Eucharistic friendship across cultures"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:18:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:24:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["9012f917-476c-42a9-a6ab-9bfdfb135dae"],"hasLease_ssim":["59097576-c265-4449-a962-1eddbc81dfcb"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John W Crossin"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. It is this author's conviction that it is time for the church to claim the theological premise that crafting eucharistic practices of friendship across cultures provides a vision of faith that will address racial divisiveness and build bridges of reconcilitation in society. The author wrote a workbook that served as an instrument to facilitate daily reflection upon ways the Eucharist inspires practices of friendship across ethnicity and social class. The author conducted an eight-week project which included multi-cultural worship, sharing of stories in small groups, and participation in Eucharist. Evaluation of the project included the use of surveys and interviews. The author concludes that this approach to multi-cultural ministry facilitated reflection upon Eucharist and helped participants learn more about the importance of forming friendships with Christians of diverse ethnicity and economic class based upon practices of holy communion that shape the formation of Christ-like friendships."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718444648628224,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:34:17.424Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":186,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
