He draws on liturgical history and developmental psychology to argue that Confirmation cannot fill this gap. Leaving home is an initiation into the culture, not into the church. A program of education and reflection in a parish addresses the disparities in one local situation. The project sought to bridge the gulf between worship and social justice groups which exists in an average parish and to bring these groups into creative relationship.  The project had four goals: 1) to develop an adult education curriculum; 2) to utilize the curriculum in three diverse parish settings (urban, rural and campus ministry); 3) to assess the curriculum; and 4) to provide information for a revision of the curriculum. The methodology derived directly from the goals.  The principal curriculum resource was a study book, The Noise of Solemn Assemblies: a Primer on Liturgy and Social Justice.  It was taught within three diverse settings and evaluated using a number of instruments and criteria. These ceremonies are dynamic and energizing.  They are the deepest level of life where God's presence is celebrated. Ordained and non-ordained church members need to come to grips with the theological implications of the ceremonies and increase skills for public leadership of ceremonies. Barriers which prevent many non-ordained persons from full participation are examined.  The project involved questionnaires, worshops, retreats and an evaluation.  The ministry on worship department worked closely with the pastor.  Self-esteem is one issue that must be taken into account as the congregation seeks to involve the non-ordained in public ceremonies. It compares these prayers with the congregant's perceptions of the Church of the Nazarene's teachings on the doctrine of entire sanctification.  The purpose of the project is to analyze and evaluate the congregant's expectations and reactions to the comparison.  It uses the descriptive survey method of inquiry to gather data from the control group of the Grandview church and from a companion test group randomly selected from four other Nazarene churches in the Kansas City area. This project contains a section on 'The Review of Related Literature' which covers the doctrine and practice of entire sanctification which outlines what constitutes transgression in the life of those who claim the experience of entire sanctification or Christian perfection.
