The Bible is filled with charges and directions for a life full of meaning.  Matthew 28:19-20 gives us a precise command, 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.'  The charge of making disciples is clear and direct.  The question comes about when determining how best to make disciples.  Jesus used modeling and mentoring.  The established example of Jesus mentoring is the one that will be discussed and followed.     There is a great need in youth ministries for students to see how other students who are committed followers of Jesus Christ live their lives.  The project leader believes a teenage student better relates to another teenage student than to an adult.  A student mentor can grow personally by being trained to mentor, as well as become prepared to minister to their mentoree. This project will develop a curriculum for teenage leaders to lead younger students to understand how they can have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  The project leader will work with the mentor development team to develop six sessions that will be used by student mentors to lead a younger teenage mentoree.  The mentor will spend one on one time with a student who is two or more years younger than the mentor.  The mentoree will be trained to understand how to have a closer relationship with Jesus, as well as be encouraged to become a mentor to a younger student. Campers making commitments at Camp Galilee in El Dorado Springs, Missouri were surveyed following camp to determine the importance of spiritual disciplines and mentoring relationships on commitment level.  The study showed a positive relationship between participation in spiritual disciplines and commitment level; however, the strongest correlation appeared in the area of fellowship. Questionnaires were given at the beginning and at the end of the program.  The results of the questionnaires indicated that students grew in their Christian faith as demonstrated by an increase in discernible discipleship habits.  The liturgy helped facilitate that end.  The mentors developed relationships with the mentorees that empowered them to grow in their Christian faith. This project uses the seminary's supervised ministry program and adapts the program for the local church for sr high and college students not yet sure of the call of God for pastoral leadership.  Nine students interns were hired for a ten-week summer internship program structured under the model of supervised ministry. Eight youth--five males, three females--and four adults participated in a five-day trip.  The spiritual well-being scale was given as a pre-test and four- and twelve-week post-test.  Each teen kept a journal.  Females grew more than males.  Teens without a parent involved grew more than those with a parent participating.  The Religious Well-Being means rose each testing.  The Existential Well-Being means rose at four weeks, then fell below pre-test mean at twelve weeks. Two questionnaires were used in a quantitative analysis: Parental Bonding Instrument (modified), and the Valuegenesis survey. The findings revealed that bonding factors for Adventist young people can be determined.  A reliable bonding scale was constructed from six items measuring commitment to Jesus, religious faith, the local congregation, and the denomination as well as frequency of attendance at worship services.  The scale had a reliability alpha of .81 with item scale correlations ranging from .45 to .72.
