It uses an educational approach to enable laity to take part in the ministry of evangelism. The researcher participates in a local church program of the 'Evangelism Explosion' ministry and attends a leadership clinic sponsored by 'Evangelism Explosion' to test ways of equipping laity for their ministry.  He concludes that teaching laity motives and helping recruit laity for ministry is possible in Indonesia.  Teaching must deal with believing, trusting, and doing.  The approach must be task oriented. The project focused on immigrants who had become related to The International Church of the Metroplex (TICOM).  Separate practicum discussion groups of immigrants and Americans and a random survey indicated that even though they had had negative experiences, especially of rejection from white churches, the immigrants had kept their Christian faith intact.  The practicum also revealed that it was a lack of contact and interaction between the Americans and the Third World immigrants which was responsible for  their fear and mistrust of one another. The group met eight times for two hours.  Each session was devoted to examining and reflecting theologically on a specific topic related to singlehood. Three theses make up this project.  First, the pastor should be a teacher of adults in the local church.  Second, church history should be taught in the local church.  Third, a good way to teach church history in the local church is by using a chronological episodic arrangement of primary documents. The need was addressed through Bible study, fellowship, six evangelistic worship and preaching services, congregational response and evaluation, the response of a working committee of six persons, evaluation and critical reflection with the preacher.  The content of the messages preached emphasized the non-negotiable essentials of the Christian message as the kerygma for the context.  The thesis of the project was that kerygmatic preaching plays a central role in the local church's ministry of leading people to the experiential relationship with God in Christ by the Holy Spirit. The men's responses, decisions and demands for such preaching on Sunday morning showed the necessity for such preaching. The design involved trustees as validators of selected words and of the content developed.  Thirty words-expressions were identified and developed as emanating out of Blueprints, a Catholic school leadership renewal process situated in western Canada.  This paper includes an extensive comparison (written in French) of Alberta's vocabulary with that of a sister province, Quebec. The church has increased from a new work in August of 1980 to 10,000 participants by August of 1985.  Its growth has come about largely through the extraordinary ability of pastor Tim Timmons to communicate to young, unchurched middle-class Americans and the church's highly organized commitment to forming small group ministries to meet the various needs of those who attend the church.
