The hypothesis was that youth perceptions of a local congregation will change measurably if personal needs assessment, coordination of youth activities and establishment of a central youth forum are undertaken by the leadership on behalf of young people.  The project involved five distinct methods: 1) a needs assessment, 2) the recruiting of volunteers, 3) the preparation of the volunteers for ministry, 4) the development of a youth council, 5) an evaluation of effectiveness.  Pre- and post-project evaluation showed that youth perceptions of the parish became more 'positive'. Evangelism is discussed from the two perspectives of General Evangelism and In-House Evangelism.  General Evangelism concentrates on witnessing to persons who are not members of a particular Christian religious body and to persons who have not accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour. In-House Evangelism focuses on involving persons of the local church in the total life of the church.  Evangelism in prisons and hospitals is also discussed.  The project emphasizes the personal preparation of the individual evangelist in terms of mental stability and spiritual strength.  The project is evaluated from the three perspectives of the participants, the class leaders in the church and the DMin candidate. The author reviewed pertinent literature -- sociological, psychological and theological -- and used questionnaires and interviews in her research.  The main questions addressed the clergywomen's ages, the touching in their families of origin and their use of touch in ministry. Each woman reported instances of therapeutic and non-therapeutic touching and the response of the parishioner-patient-client as well as their own responses to these instances. They reflected on Scripture, tradition, experience and reason as four sources of authority for Christian faith, and on the image of covenant as the central symbol of Christian marriage. A growing dissatisfaction with present Protestant preaching indicates a need to pursue a style of preaching with greater use of story telling, imagination, narrative and metaphor.  Six doctrinal sermons which include rabbinic material and teaching style are field tested for their acceptability by church members.
