These ceremonies are dynamic and energizing. They are the deepest level of life where God's presence is celebrated. Ordained and non-ordained church members need to come to grips with the theological implications of the ceremonies and increase skills for public leadership of ceremonies. Barriers which prevent many non-ordained persons from full participation are examined. The project involved questionnaires, worshops, retreats and an evaluation. The ministry on worship department worked closely with the pastor. Self-esteem is one issue that must be taken into account as the congregation seeks to involve the non-ordained in public ceremonies. The involvement of the non-ordained is not only a theological issue but a recognition of the gifts and intelligence of all believers in the fellowship."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715154034688000,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:41:59.250Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:37:39Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:43:58Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4e0a98fc-f4a5-45ac-8169-2d4a3695237a","accessControl_ssim":["cdc98634-fd30-4151-a22c-2eb66f959766"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A case study of a client with borderline personality disorder"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:37:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:25:28Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1992ec2e-7296-4065-b08e-28e2226e2aa3"],"hasLease_ssim":["84077a15-2c30-47de-a5d1-23ddf45c9969"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Sue Webb Cardwell"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Cecile L Barnhart"],"publisher_tesim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Pastoral psychology","Case studies","Psychology, Pathological","Psychotherapy"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this paper is to develop an understanding of the borderline client and of the dynamic process involved in treatment. The basic concern of this project was to determine how the strategy might be implemented in the Eugene Seventh-day Adventist Church. A theological investigation and an examination of contemporary concepts of caring in management literature form a basis for the study. Two surveys establish the felt needs of the community and its awareness and attitude toward Seventh-day Adventists. A third survey documents the attitudes and behavior of church members which enhance or inhibit church growth. A narrative describes the planning and administration of a one-year program for caring church ministry in the Eugene, Oregon, Seventh-day Adventist church. During the year's program the number of new members added to the congregation was minimal. In the last chapter, both church growth enhancing and church growth inhibiting characteristics of the Eugene church are identified. Heritage and contemporary goals of members must be respected for a church growth climate to exist. Efforts must include membership in policy decisions."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andrews University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4b1d9df2-25d6-46f6-a889-1871c277d61c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135182198145024,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:47:00.473Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":255,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
