This paper demonstrates that family systems theory can be combined in the analysis and constructive response to conflict. One can be hard on the issues but soft on the people involved. It is possible to teach conflict management skills as one manages conflict. The skills can be used in many areas of one's life."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133164464242688,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:14:56.213Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:51:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:30:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e467acb8-da4b-4d59-adb1-767bab997594","accessControl_ssim":["da4d7fd5-21e6-4296-8ee5-abb1d00569c9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Humor in the psychotherapeutic process"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:51:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:39:58Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["cec2a691-59b4-4e16-8d9a-423757b680b8"],"hasLease_ssim":["b51a0d79-fc83-406d-abc5-4639bf0d0ed1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Jeri Babinsky"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["George Brennan"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Life","Psychotherapy","Wit and humor--Religious aspects","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This paper considers the relationship of humor to issues of meaning and purpose in life. It stems from an observation that, when people are encouraged to laugh in therapy, they may be led to a new level of awareness that is important to the therapeutic process. Humor is not only a technique; it is also a paradigm for a pastoral approach to therapy. The main point of the project is that there is a relationship between a sense of humor and the quest for God. The study is based on a Factor Analysis of 155 questionnaires, gathered from individuals who attend 12 UCC churches and one conference. It reveals that dual-paycheck families do not value any function of a church's ministry more than single-paycheck families. It also reveals that the more one is involved in church activities, the more one values all church activities. The study indicates that more investigation is needed and suggests ways local churches can help dual-paycheck families."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133059836280832,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:13:16.432Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:51:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:23:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8259e978-796a-4c76-b0ee-4fa9bed7b2c5","accessControl_ssim":["b359e1f6-92e4-4aed-ad7c-bd6f04adfb99"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Theological implications of Hilde Bruch's theory and treatment of primary anorexia nervosa"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:51:34Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:58:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2fe7761a-df82-44c4-ade1-e089151d1a98"],"hasLease_ssim":["d5d36557-17d3-4c31-a307-630cdced22d8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["C Henry"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Dan R Bottorff"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Developmental psychology","Faith development","Anorexia nervosa","Bruch, Hilde","Case method","Psychotherapy","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Brooks.
