A biblical and theological framework is constructed.  A review of stewardship literature notes the pledge and free-will methods utilized by different churches.  Insights applicable to the church setting are also gleaned from fund-raising literature. The Princetonians wrote from a Reformed and exegetical perspective.  The author concludes that the Princetonians offer much needed biblical counsel regarding power encounter.  Miracles are not denied; but, miraculous gifts are refuted for the post-apostolic church upon biblical grounds.  Great care must be taken in verifying alleged miracles. A ten part sermon series was developed and delivered on the following disciplines: inner life, prayer, confession, reading and journaling, Bible study, meditation, devotional life, fasting, personal worship, and ministry. Sermons were reinforced through distribution of outlines and worksheets as well as through the encouragement of additional reading. Comparison of before and after surveys revealed substantial improvement in the practice of the disciplines. The project concludes with a chapter on evaluation.  The wholistic approach is taken in health care delivery. Both are seen to be necessary for the proper function of the church.
