However, Africa has encountered industrialization, rapid urbanization, and migration into the cities.  The mass migration has resulted in poverty, unemployment, housing shortages, hunger and homelessness, prostitution, and delinquent children. Failure to use local languages, culture, and worldview has produced nominal and syncretistic Christians.  This project will help churches to effectively change their way of reaching these people.  The method of research was based on James and Evelyn Whitehead's tripolar theological method of doing evangelism. The crisis of meaning that ministers experience in their personal and ministerial lives is a mirror of what is happening in the larger church and society.  The qualitative research used in the report served to illustrate this fact. The methodology included a 60-minute videotape documentary dealing with historical, psychological, medical, ethical, and biblical material broken into seven study periods.  Booklets for leader and students give additional information.  Discussion starters and open-ended questions are provided to facilitate dialogue.  Two groups were studied.  Measurements before and after the course indicate significant positive shifts in attitudes, perceptions, and value systems by all participants. The paper looks at the denomination's congregational and presbyterial roots and its present structure in which regions have responsibility for authorizing ordinations.  The paper surveys and analyzes current practices of the 36 regions and makes recommendations to enhance the role of congregations in the process. The study also gives a model for baptismal preparation.  The method of study is a survey sent to two groups, adults who were baptized when junior youth and pastors and teachers in the KS-NE conference. The results show that the expectations differ between the two groups with respect to peer influence, personal conviction, and religious behavior. Monthly seminars were used to impart information and the catalyst for transforming facts into action was a weekly peer group meeting. The objective data, gathered before and after the project, and church assessments, preproject compared with postproject data, revealed the project to be successful.  The subjective data was not conclusive. This thesis explores ways by which the Seventh-Day Adventist Church can adapt radio broadcasting for social change and evangelism in Ghana. Thus, a study of literature on the art of religious broadcasting, contracts by letters, and interviews and surveys were made to find practical and innovative approaches to contexualized radio evangelism. A questionnaire was designed to gather information regarding the pastors' experiences and needs in their counseling ministry.  A learning design was created to address those needs.  Twenty pastors enrolled in the fourteen, three-hour training sessions.  The pastors' positive response and evaluation indicated a need for such training.
