However, available literature and training specific to home missions is advanced and scarce. This report describes an entry-level training program developed as an independent study text.  Didactic material presented an overview of sixteen topics pertinent to cross-cultural ministry, reinforced through analytical and experiential exercises. If so, is it also possible for leadership style to have a positive effect on members' participation?  The purpose of this project is to determine the relationship between pastoral leadership style and church membership participation and to design a model of leadership style that can enhance membership participation.  The project affirmed that style can be a contributing factor to membership participation but there is not one style that will always enhance membership participation. Such a need might well begin with the intimacy in their own family relationships.  The disquisition develops the relational theme of play biblically, sociologically, and psychologically. Instructional sessions were designed to address the needs of divorced persons and to train the experimental group in self-help group dynamics. Statistically significant improvement was measured in the divorce adjustment of those involved in the instructional sessions. The project director led 'Cults and the Family' conferences in three states utilizing materials he produced.  Conference participants were pretested and posttested to measure knowledge acquired in the conferences.  Postconference and follow-up questionnaires also were submitted to participants. Program design resources included materials from secular supervision, seminary field education, and clinical pastoral education programs.  Evaluation materials included a job satisfaction questionnaire administered as a pretest and posttest, and an intern evaluation of supervision questionnaire. Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with control and experimental groups.  A questionnaire determined spiritual disciplines that needed improvement, and a training manual was developed based upon the results. The experimental group received seven weeks of discipleship training from the project director.  This group then trained others one-on-one using the same material.
