The author draws principles from Apostle Paul's relationship with the Corinthians, interpersonal theory, and pastoral theology.  The manual presents a three-step program: education, evaluation, and application. The project examines the basic issues involved in contextualization and offers a defense for the procedure used.  The writer identifies biblical principles of leadership by examining biblical terminology, teaching passages, and character studies.  Traditional patterns of leadership among Alaskan natives as found in the ethnographic literature is described. First a biblical study of both Old and New Testament was done.  Second, a functional model was developed which allowed the uniqueness of both responsibilities to be developed.  Third, a six-lesson course to communicate this information was developed.  A brief survey of some other congregations was included.  The results in the Morris congregation have been positive in terms of the development, both spiritual and functional, of existing and new leaders. It is based upon the churches alive growing by discipleship concept.  The project also presents a theological defense of the gospel. Two small groups' three outreaches into the community are presented and evaluated.  Various tools for such are included in the appendices.  The conclusions show that the outreaches may not result in many decisions for Christ initially. The methodology included: 1) researched words in the field of gerontology; 2) categorized the material to cover the four areas of adjustment; 3) prepared material for the four sessions; 4) prepared worksheets for seniors to use; 5) had seniors evaluate the sessions; and 6) had seniors respond to ways they'd like to be more involved.  The objectives of the project were accomplished by providing seniors with greater insight into the adjustments they must make in different areas of life and also providing more meaningful ministry.
