Since a satisfied volunteer remains in a given position longer than an unsatisisfied volunteer, specific methods for increasing personal fulfillment are applied. In Section I, volunteers discover their TEAM--Temperament, Experiences, Abilities, and Motivators. As the volunteer learns more about the person God has designed him to be, he can better understand the ministry God has designed him to do. In Section II, the supervisor learns how a volunteer's ministry can be enhanced when he receives CARE from his ministry supervisor--Clarified expectations, Agreed upon objectives, Reviewed progress, and being Equipped for growth. In the final section, the supervisor is instructed to encourage his volunteers to GROW--Get to know God, Relate wisely to others, be Open to personal change, and be Willing to profit from problems. Growth is stressed because the volunteer's effectiveness comes from the message of his life as well as the ministry of his gifts."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128585166127104,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:02:09.054Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:37:08Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:13:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bfb7bce8-9584-445a-ad56-61f7a5f5ea25","accessControl_ssim":["674e4731-9ca5-430b-80da-241749bf40ca"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Marketing the church to increase first-time attenders"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:37:07Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:39:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2b230f2d-44c2-4fb1-8db3-5917c2f665de"],"hasLease_ssim":["20ed84ff-abd0-45b4-b094-29fe5c09e722"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Talbot School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Gary L McIntosh"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mark J Belokonny"],"publisher_tesim":["Talbot School of Theology of Biola University"],"subject_tesim":["First Baptist Church of Oceanside (Oceanside, Calif)","Marketing","Church growth","Advertising--Religious aspects--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["When used appropriately, some marketing strategies will increase the number of first-time church attenders. The project is designed to identify and use those marketing approaches which will be the most effective in attracting visitors to the First Baptist Church of Oceanside. A secondary aim of this project is to create a resource which will assist other established, traditional churches in similar situations as they seek to effectively 'market' their ministry for the glory of God. The reason why this project was undertaken is to focus and maximize the limited marketing resources, time and effort which the church has in order to increase the number of church visitors. The church will then be able to witness from a position of strength as it specifically reaches out to those who by their presence indicate a spiritual receptivity. Five strategic marketing strategies are identified, tried and evaluated based upon a survey of 498 visitors over a 25 month period. A statistical analysis is made comparing the relative effectiveness of each marketing strategy. Implications for the First Baptist Church of Oceanside and the church at large are presented."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129301217705984,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:13:31.934Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:36:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:13:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4ebacdf0-b6a3-4221-875a-26f7ae94bdf6","accessControl_ssim":["aa11f686-89d0-41df-a86e-fd1aa3e63609"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Designing an effective youth ministry concentration at Southeastern College"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:36:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:26:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1bc1d36f-e351-4c9b-91e6-1ae566c15c2a"],"hasLease_ssim":["64407608-30df-433a-940b-a3f624886b33"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Talbot School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Gary L McIntosh"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William C Hackett"],"publisher_tesim":["Talbot School of Theology of Biola University"],"subject_tesim":["Clergy","Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God (Lakeland, Fla)","Church work with youth","Clergy--Training of","Assemblies of God"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation project was conducted to answer the question: How effective is Southeastern College in preparing men and women to be youth pastors? The results of limited subjective evaluations indicated that the program has been successful."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721589295546368,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:24:16.393Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:36:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:59:39Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a5026f91-c10b-46a5-99a1-af5b41bbf0ed","accessControl_ssim":["d74d1e41-ef77-4b57-91f3-76b24864d61e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Providing hope in the midst of dying"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:36:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:55:27Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fcd096e3-32c4-4e6e-aa6f-28ef34dd2ead"],"hasLease_ssim":["68c84338-b5e7-46bc-b3a0-dd792d894465"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Brite Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Andrew Lester"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barbara J Arther"],"publisher_tesim":["Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University"],"subject_tesim":["Hope","Terminal care"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The goal of this paper is to answer the pastoral care question: How can pastoral caregivers provide hope in a meaningful and holistic way for the individual who is dying? This paper presents the theological understanding of hope in both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament. The issue of theodicy and the meaning of suffering is also discussed. The different theological understandings of hope for this paper come from Jürgen Moltmann, Wolfhart Pannenberg and John Macquarrie. A theology of dying and pastoral care techniques are described for the different stages of grief. These techniques are helpful to pastoral caregivers in providing hope for those who are dying. The community of faith and their importance in providing hope for the dying is not addressed. Case studies are presented to describe how the author provided hope to the dying through pastoral care techniques. Hope is not an easy concept to grasp, but this paper puts some handles on how hope can be provided by pastoral caregivers in caring for the dying."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128431414476800,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:59:42.425Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:35:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:49:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bf671197-1a01-4165-a424-b31b555a2107","accessControl_ssim":["810d2914-dfcd-4a4b-bf4d-a0047e36244f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["What you see is what you get: a media seminar for the renewal of Christian values"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:35:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:38:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8a0beab6-a7f0-4225-bb61-c126263e81f3"],"hasLease_ssim":["c7dc9c8e-d6b3-492e-a576-969002f08c3b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andrews University"],"advisor_tesim":["C Mervyn Maxwell"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John Glass"],"publisher_tesim":["Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary of Andrews University"],"subject_tesim":["Christian ethics","Television--Ethical aspects"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Some church-goers invest much discretionary time indiscriminately viewing commercial television broadcasts.
