Lately pastors have complained that they are spending a considerable amount of time in post-marital counseling.  This project sought to design and implement a premarital education program to help prepare couples for marriage and reduce the number of hours pastors spend with post-marital care.  The seminars in the model will prepare couples for life's challenges as they learn to develop communication and coping skills. With the aid of biblical resources, a biblical base is set forth in the context of premarital education. One of the main causes of constant conflict and affliction was the operation of a women's financial association (GYE) originally started to assist the needy in crisis.  Within this Christian community, the ill-balanced emphasis on money estranged everyone and undermined the spiritual solidarity of the group. However, most Korean Christians seem more interested in the actual practice of prayer than in the theological intricacies it may involve.  Chapter 1 describes the prayer habits of Korean Christians and gives a history of the prayer movements of the Korean Protestant Church from the awakening of 1907 to the present.  A field study conducted to gain knowledge of the present prayer life of Korean immigrant churches in Canada is analyzed in chapter 2.  Theological formulations for the practice of prayer in Christian life, Jesus' teaching and practice of prayer comprise chapter 3.  Chapter 4 suggests ways to help people pray more effectively by reviewing the most important characteristics of Christian prayer. A video tape tool was produced for elders to use with baptismal candidates or parents of infants, and field-tested.  Results: A video instrument can be an effective tool for member ministry in a video-oriented society, developing theological awareness and cohesiveness among church members. Adult children find themselves attempting to balance concern for their parents, their children, and their careers.  With little or no understanding of elder care before it is thrust upon them, adult children need to learn about the physical, emotional and spiritual needs that accompany the aging process.  This project revealed a wealth of information not readily recognized by caregivers. To make the rite meaningful and relevant to the culture of the Hmong the writer used the process of inculturation.  Research on the meaning and method of inculturation helped the writer to discover how to apply it in the case of the Hmong people.  The writer also researched Hmong history through extensive reading, personal interviews of Hmong leaders at Holy Family Parish and participation in their religious and social activities. Research was done into the theological basis for dealing with conflict.  Literature as well as in-person interviews of Unitarian historians were used to draw a record of how Unitarians and Universalists have dealt with conflicts in the past.  Extensive use of personal interviews was employed to gather information from leaders, lay and clergy, of the congregations targeted for the study. Four couples from the ages of twenty-five to forty years old participated in a monthly seminar for a period of five months.  The group also met monthly as a supporting group for four more months.  Several surveys were given to determine if there were any changes is attitudes, behaviors and actions of the participants.
