Baptism is defined in chapter 1 as a public vow of submission to Christ.  A pre-test and post-test was given to a control group to measure growth in their knowledge of baptism and level of commitment because of the claims of baptism.  Chapter 2 focuses on the historical, biblical, and theological aspects of baptism. Attention was given to current trends within the Southern Baptist Convention. Chapter 3 describes the preparation of the church, including a sermon series and a testimony service.  Chapter 4 describes the seminar on baptism.  The seminar contained 12 sessions and was developed from the research material of chapter 2. The seminar, developed from the research done for chapters 2 and 3, presented a model of grief that integrated a relational theology with a Freudian psychodynamic psychology. A team of twelve volunteer leaders was chosen to study the demographics of the church and community, as well as ministry concepts that work.  They then developed a ministry strategy with a new vision/purpose statement and a target person personality profile.  They also created goals for improvement in six areas of concern.  These areas were building and grounds, organization and ministries, outreach and publicity, hospitality, visitation and follow-up, and integration of new members.  The result of this project was that the church went from being an inwardly focused church to a community-focused church. Brueggemann's 1984 work on the Psalms is compared to modern grief theory and used to develop a sermon series and Bible study.  The range of emotions expressed in the Psalms parallels the emotions experienced by a person facing death.  Congregation pre- and post-tests were administered to measure changes in anxiety.  Interview instruments were developed to measure the effectiveness of the sermons and Bible study series. A new minister would do well to discover the theological climate as soon as possible and compare the church's theological biases in light of a Reformed theology of worship.  Worship leadership that strives to be theologically inclusive will be based on understanding the object of worship as the God we know as Trinity.  Theological categories based on the Trinity serve as reference points to the different biases worshippers and worship leaders bring to the worship. Over-emphasis on one of the Persons of the Trinity excludes other worshippers who desire to worship God in God's fullness.  Theologically inclusive worship is planned, presented and reviewed by active church members.  A Trinitarian model is used to evaluate the act of ministry. The success of the project indicates that future discussion by the larger church can be helpful in attempts to design and understand congregational biases in worship and a Reformed theology of worship.
